Weekly Adult Drills We offer open drills for men and women by NTRP levels each week. The drills are fast paced tennis specific drills with a limit of no more than 8 players per drill. Click here for this season’s current schedule. Players can sign up online to reserve a spot in the drills or call in on the day of the drill to hold a spot. This is a Level 2, Backhand Crosscourt Control drill with both players at the baseline. This is a cooperative live ball drill that focuses on developing consistency, placement, depth, spin and angle during a crosscourt rally. Level 2 players can strive to make sets or 20 repetitions in a row.
Feb 03, · Aiming Drills These drills give beginners a fun way to focus on aiming volleys and forehand and backhand groundstrokes. Of the five main attributes, tennis players want to develop in their shots―consistency, depth, power, direction, and spin―direction probably brings the biggest sense of accomplishment per difficulty. So, instead of just going to Youtube and searching for ‘kids tennis drills’ or ‘tennis conditioning exercises’, you will know, for example, that it is ‘week 3’ and you’re working on trading from the back of the court. THEN you can go looking for drills because you’ll know what your looking for.
Tennis is harder than most people think, and becoming a good player doesn't happen overnight -- it takes hours of on-court drills. If you took lessons as a child, the fun, carnival-like drills you did were designed to help you figure out how your body moves, with a few tennis basics thrown in. Open drill provides a workout through doubles “live-ball” drills simulating actual match play situations. Open drills are not designed to focus on individual stroke technique.
